Kamal Haasan recalls fond memories of Elizabeth; Queen attended his film shooting
Chennai: Queen Elizabeth, who holds the record as the longest reigning queen of Britain, passed away on Thursday. The Queen, who reigned for 70 years, died at the age of 96 on Thursday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Veteran actor Kamal Haasan condoled her death. Kamal Haasan met Queen.

In 1997, Queen Elizabeth visited the sets of Kamal Haasan's prestigious film ‘Marudhanayagam’. After that, the film was stalled. Queen attended the shooting of this movie, along with the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi.
Remembering this, Kamal Haasan tweeted that the death of Queen Elizabeth hurt him a lot. He said that not only the British, but the whole world loved her. He said that 25 years ago she had accepted his invitation and attended the ‘Marudanayagam’ movie launch. He said that this may be the first film shooting she had attended in her life.
